I will be half time starting in July. I will be teaching etc. during the spring semester for three years, to help phase in, if needed, the new faculty. There is an interest to maintain the mine ventilation expertise in the department and make use of the excellent department mine ventilation laboratory. At the 2003 Annual General Meeting, in Milos, Greece, the SOMP co-sponsored, with many other organizations, including SME, the Declaration for Sustainable Development. Known as the "Milos Declaration" (SDIMI 2003). Endorsed by the major professional and scientific international groups, it is a landmark statement of the role, responsibilities and opportunities of the scientific and professional societies in the transition to sustainable development.
